Features
Provides knowledge for all forms of mechanical signalling
equipment. The course allows time for the candidate to gain experience of hands
on setting up and testing of points and signals in a safe area. Candidates will
also be required to practically cut and correctly install/adjust a mechanical
facing point lock stretcher and bolt. The S.M.S procedures for the equipment can
also be practiced.
Learning Approach
Classroom theory sessions using visual aids, and practical demonstrations with
hands on learning of mechanical points, mechanical facing point locks and
mechanical signals.
Assessment
Written test paper plus ongoing practical assessments
throughout the course
