This is the second course aimed at Railway Signalling Staff and is based on the original British Rail course of the same name. Candidates should previously have attended the Basic Signalling 1 course.

Objectives

The course has been split into six subjects and each subject has been arranged into unique training modules each with it's own objectives. On successful completion of the course the candidate will have the necessary knowledge to:

Interpret signalling circuitry associated with signal and point control and indication
Explain the use and purpose of individual signal and point machine components
Explain equipment function operation and circuitry
Outline basic fault finding and maintenance techniques associated with signals and electrical operated points

Subjects

Points - Clamp Locks and Machines
Signalling Relays
Controlled Signals and Signal Circuitry
Power Supplies
Signalling Cables and Wires
Basic Fault Finding

Who Should Attend
