Introduction

This Clamp Lock Installation training course focuses on the installation only of Mark II Clamp Locks for plain leads and single slips

Objectives

On successful completion of the course the candidate (in accordance with instructions in the SMS & Clamp Lock Handbook) will be able to install:

A Mk2 clamp lock to a plain lead

Principles of clamp lock operation
Installation and adjustment of Mk2 clamp locks to a plain lead

Who Should Attend

Candidates whose work involves the installation of Clamp Lock point layouts. Ideally candidates should have attended an Introduction to British Rail Signalling course and should be able to read circuit diagrams.

Learning Approach

Classroom sessions and practical work. Theory and practical assessments are included.

Candidates will improve their installation techniques to improve efficiency and reliability and reduce the risk of failure. This is a school environment with the ability to have faults applied. This environment also allows component changing under controlled conditions and where appropriate the equipment may be stripped and re-built. This is a Learning environment without distractions.
