Point Control & Detection Circuitry

Introduction

This course looks a the wiring circuitry associated with point machines and clamp locks and can be split into three main areas:

Point Calling
Point Moving
Point Detection

Objectives

On successful completion of the course the candidate will be able to:

Describe
State the purpose of the controls used in the points NWR/RWR circuit
State the purpose of the WZR
State why a relay with heavy duty contacts is used to drive the point machine
State the purpose of the WJR
State the purpose of the controls used in the points NWKR/RWKR circuit

Who Should Attend

Candidates who are involved with the Installation and maintenance/faulting of any Clamp Lock or point machine layout. Ideally candidates should have attended an Introduction to British Rail Signalling course and should be able to read circuit diagrams.

Classroom theory sessions using visual aids, working models and practical demonstrations.
