Introduction
The aim of this course is to introduce the candidate to circuit diagrams and relays. With familiarity and sufficient knowledge of circuit symbols and their meaning, new unknown circuit diagrams can be tackled and the way they work understood.
Objectives
On successful completion of the course the candidate will be able to:
Identify a circuit symbol and obtain it’s meaning
using a Circuit Symbol Nomenclature Table
| Compare and explain how different circuit symbols are
used in different circuits | Describe the main parts of a relay and how it works | Describe how a basic circuit works by relating relay
coils in one circuit with the contacts in another | |
Who Should Attend
Candidates whose work
involves reading and understanding circuit diagrams used in railway signalling
systems.
