Introduction

The aim of this course is to introduce the candidates to the concepts of a modern Railway Signalling Control Centre.

Objectives

On successful completion of the course the candidate will be able to:

State the purpose of the Train describer
Define a Train Headcode
Describe the function of the Central Processor Unit
Describe the function of a Local Processor Unit
Explain the terms Junction Mode, Layover Time and Signal Adjust Time
Explain the use of the Timetable in Automatic Route Setting
Describe the function of the Automatic Route Setting system
Describe the interconnection between the Control Centre equipment and the Signalling Equipment

Who Should Attend

Candidates whose work involves the maintenance/faulting and installation of signalling equipment centred around signalling control centres.
