Introduction
Delegates attending this course will be introduced to Ohm’s Law and the use of a Digital Multimeter to measure Voltage, Current and Resistance.
Course Objectives
On successful completion of the course the candidate will be able to:
- Use a Multimeter to measure DC Voltages, Currents and Resistance;
- State the relationship between the Voltage and Current flowing in a circuit with respect to its resistance, as per Ohm’s Law;
- Using Ohm’s Law, calculate the expected Voltage, Current or Circuit Resistance when two of the three components are known;
- Identify a resistors value from its colour coding. • Calculate the resistance of resistors connected in Series and Parallel;
- Understand the operation of a variable resistor.
