Introduction
This course is designed to re-certify the candidate in the use of the Signal Maintenance Testing Handbook
Course Objectives
On successful completion of the course the candidate will be able to:
- Continue to carry out Signal Maintenance Testing activities in accordance with SMTH in the competencies currently held and successfully re-certified as competent in.
Additional Information
This course is run as a one to one assessment. The candidate is observed undertaking each of the defined tests (for the competencies held) as defined in the SMT handbook.
The assessment is supported by further questioning as required and is followed up by feedback detailing any requirements for re-training/mentorship if required
Personal Protective Equipment
Full PPE is required for this course. All delegates are required to bring:
- Protective “all orange” high Visibility Clothing to Network Rail Standard
- Safety Footwear (Boots) to Network Rail Standard
- Safety Helmet (white/blue) to Network Rail Standard
Certification
The successful candidate will leave with a certificate of competence detailing the elements re-certified in.
This certificate is not valid unless it has been signed by the Assessor and countersigned by the candidates line manager
